Limiting beliefs our self’s can
be one of the biggest trip-ups we face when it comes to finding success in
life. We effectively build the foundations of our belief systems by attaching
ourselves to people, events and circumstances. These beliefs are nothing more
than psychological rules the number system that shapes your thoughts and
filters your experience of reality.
Beliefs are nothing but
assumptions you make about yourselves like how you expect things to be in your
world. As these beliefs grow stronger, you feel weaker and less empowered to
find success. As time passes you begin to feel deep frustration and
hopelessness which can even turn to anger, self-hatred, and even depression.
But with certain guidelines you
can put your limiting beliefs in-check and find the freedom to maximize your
potential.
Identify your limiting beliefs
This is the first step as you can
rectify any situation and get a clear handle on what’s wrong. You need to focus
attention on your limiting beliefs to overcome them and most of them are
relatively easy to identify. Identify those limiting beliefs that are keeping
you from living the life you desire, whatever your dream you may have. Make
sure to write them down once you find out. For example, you have a great idea
to write a book, but you step back from achieving your dream as you believe you
are not a good actor.
Acknowledge them
Yes, after getting to the first
step of identifying the next way to advance is to acknowledge and challenge
them. When you come to know about your beliefs, acknowledge them for what they
are, the harm they have done, and admit that you are the creator of such
beliefs. Also, empower yourselves to change once you acknowledge your
responsibilities. Remember you cannot gain victory without taking
responsibilities for having them or work to solve them.
Confront the beliefs
The only way to conquer your
limiting beliefs is by confronting them. The main reason that they grow troublesome
in the first place is that they go unchallenged. Also, you may develop
co-dependent relationship with them rather than dealing with the struggle of
this confrontation.
You start to protect and justify
them when they are questioned making them continue to grow and strengthen. If

Replace them
Only way to overcome your limited
beliefs is to replace them with new empowering ones. For example, if your limiting
belief was ‘I can’t play cricket as I can’t hit sixes’ then you should replace
them with ‘I can play cricket as I can hit fours’. Likewise, write out all the
limiting ones and replace them with the unlimited beliefs.
Use this to find success
This is the final step as you need to implement your new
beliefs in your life. Have faith in them and definitely you will succeed in
that area where you only saw limitation before. When you truly believe in
yourself, you will not fail.
